Water

"If there is magic on this planet,
it is contained in water"

Water is essential for human health, food security, energy supplies, sustaining cities, and ecosystems. Today, the world's water systems are facing a growing crisis, threatened by overuse, pollution, and climate change. Communities all over the world are experiencing extreme events, droughts, and floods.

You can't live without water. No one can survive without water. But recently, it turns out that people in big cities don't care about the problem. But still, there are many places on earth where people can't even get safe drinking water and also without water there will be a huge disaster in health of people. Being a responsible human being it is our duty to protect the entire water system of the planet earth.

Distribution of the Earth’s Water The Earth is known as the "Blue Planet" because water covers 71 percent of its surface. Water may also be found under the earth's surface and as water vapor in the atmosphere. Water is a scarce resource. The world contains a lot of water, but only a tiny fraction of it (approximately 0.3 percent) is useable by people.

Sanitation

Sanitation is the process of keeping places clean and healthy, especially by providing a sewage system and a clean water supply. Preventing human contact with feces is part of sanitation, as is hand washing with soap. Sanitation systems aim to protect human health by providing a clean environment that will stop the transmission of disease, especially through the fecal–oral route.

For example, diarrhea, a main cause of malnutrition and stunted growth in children, can be reduced through adequate sanitation. Basic sanitation entails having access to facilities for the safe disposal of human waste (feces and urine), as well as the ability to maintain sanitary conditions through garbage collection, industrial/hazardous waste management, and wastewater treatment and disposal.

Importance Of Water & Sanitation

Did you know that each year, nearly 2.2 billion people do not have the access to safe and clean water?

And furthermore nearly 1.37 billion people do not have handwashing facilities at home. Lots of people across the world continue to lack access to safe and clean drinking water. Human existence depends on clean water. Access to clean and safe water help people to stay healthy and protected from illness, grow food and prosper in vulnerable areas.

Safe drinking water and lack of sanitation affect all aspects of life:

• Access to safe drinking water affects health

Almost two billion people worldwide depend on health facilities without adequate services, base water. As we all know, washing hands with soap has proven to be one of the best preventative measures available to save lives, but the reality is that globallyone in six healthcare facilities (16%) is healthy without functional hand sanitizer at the point of service or toilet.

• Access to drinking water affects education

Without drinking water, children often mustmiss school (584 million children lack basic drinking water in school), fall behind and drop out of school. Access to basic water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) is widely recognized as an essential part of a healthy learning environment. For adolescent girls, schools provide an important entry point to overcome barriers to menstrual hygiene management (MHM), especially if they are struggling to manage their periods with dignity and confidence in an unsuccessful school environment. not full MHM support, let alone privacy, cleanliness and secure facilities.

"A drop of water is worth more than
a sack of gold to a thirsty man"

"You will never solve poverty without solving
water and sanitation"

Water Resources

Water resources are natural resources of water that are potentially useful as a source of water supply. Natural sources of fresh water include surface water, under river flow, groundwater and frozen water. Artificial sources of fresh water can include treated wastewater (reclaimed water) and desalinated seawater.

Of these, the resources most available for use are the waters of the oceans, rivers, and lakes other available water resources include groundwater and deep subsurface waters and glaciers and permanent snowfields. We are responsible for protect those water resources.
